This manual is intended for Web-masters, creating new sites using content management system (CMS) "Astron SiteManager".
"Astron SiteManager" content management system (further – the system) allows users to manage the content of the site completely, independently and without any help of experts. You can update information, create new pages, catalogues, guest books and forums, place illustrations, keep a site users list and send them some information.
The system allows you to change the content of the site easy and on-the-fly from any computer, where the Internet Explorer browser is installed. Access to the system functions is carried out according to the rights, assigned to users. You can assign a personal site editing "responsibility zone" for each company member.

The main task of the system is to provide creation of a high functional site and to reduce the cost of holding a site as much as possible (to reduce the price and to simplify its operation and support). |
"Astron SiteManager" basic opportunities:
- an unlimited number of sites;
- an unlimited number of any level domains for one site with an opportunity to show an individual home page for each domain;
- each site can have a number of design patterns;
- an opportunity to show startup page when new user is came to the site;
- an opportunity of light, simple and intuitively clear site structure management: creating, moving or removing sections and subsections of a site;
- automatically generated site map (based on a created structure of a site);
- a lot of different modules allow you to present information in any shape you need;
- the CMS system uses standard ASP.NET authorization;
- multi-language administrative interface;
- an opportunity of creating "closed" site sections and subscription categories. Access to the closed parts of a site are at the administrator’s option;
- HTTP traffic compression, transferred from the server into a client’s browser, that allows to reduce the volume of transferred data in several times (from 4 to 20 times) and thereby to speed up essentially the user’s work with the site;
- using a WYSIWYG-editor for editing pages, that allows you to change html-code of the page as well as to format it’s content in a visual mode, the same you do it in the Microsoft Word;
- scaled pictures in a site content; you insert your picture into your site using content editor and then you can click on it to open it’s big version;
- automatically created "print version" and producing of a several modules content in RSS format;
- when calling a site by search engines – showing pages specially optimized for them;an opportunity of site search of the information;
- banners system for managing banners representation on a site;
- the system allows you to organize mailing lists on a server and to send private mail to each subscriber;
- generating friendly URLs (usual link: http://site/?item=c5b79ac8-4ad0-4a89-b5cf-9b2e41212c75; friendly URL: http://site/AboutCompany);
- sites are easy to move from one server to another;
- special CMS controls will help you to create quickly and simply site with rich functionality;
- the system possesses rich API and gives an opportunity to plug in independently developed modules and program parts to extend the system opportunities for solving specific problems.
