ALGrid currently supports two main sets of columns, in accordance with how they are generated: 

• Automatically generated columns - if the AutoGenerateColumns property is set to true (default value) ALGrid will add at runtime all columns for each field from the specified DataSource after DataBinding.  This set of columns can be accessed using the AutoGeneratedColumns property. 

Runtime auto generated columns would appear always after the user-specified columns, unless columns are reordered programmatically.

• User-specified columns - these columns are created by the developer using the designer or by modifying the Columns collection at runtime.

 

To edit columns - click the Edit columns command in the control menu:

 

After clicking Fields dialog appears:

There are five main areas in the dialog:

1. List of Available fields
2. List of special fields
3. Selected fields list
4. Field or editor control property selector
5. Property editor
6. DataKeyNames editor

 

By drag-and-drop user can select fields, that will be showed in the ALGrid:
